Sailing in Turkey – your adventure awaits
The Turkish coast combines history, nature and culinary highlights to create an unforgettable sailing experience.
Fethiye starting port – the perfect location for your adventure
Your sailing adventure begins in Fethiye – a coastal town in a unique location. Fly to Dalaman (approx. 45 min. transfer) and set off from the sheltered bay. From here, you can explore both the Turkish Aegean Sea to the east and the Mediterranean coast to the west. Don't miss the historic rock tombs above the old town!
Discover the Turkish Aegean
There are swimming stops on the route from Göcek to Gemiler Island. You jump from the yacht into the crystal-clear water. A few fellow sailors are interested in culture and head ashore to the island with its Byzantine church ruins.
You decide whether to head for the municipal port in the bay of Kalkan or whether you would prefer to stay overnight in one of the romantic bays of the offshore islands. No matter where you anchor, a spectacular sunset view and a few sundowners on deck are sure to await you.
Afiyet olsun! Greetings from the Turkish kitchen
In addition to the delicious starters, which are called meze here by the way, which primarily include spicy dips, a honey-sweet baklava and wine – whether red, white or rosé – should definitely not be missing for dessert. The well-known grape varieties in Turkey include: Narince, Öküzgözü, Boğazkere and Kalecik Karası. You should also try raki – the Turkish national drink, quite simply – as an aperitif on your yacht before you disembark. The aniseed distilled from grapes or raisins adds to the drink's digestibility.
